This chase sequence Henry and Glen have created for their school-based drama has great pace - a good variety of camera shots holds the viewer's attention and the music they've chosen really helps to set the mood and build tension.

Jake's Bike

This sequence highlights how stealing is wrong and can have dire consequences! It also shows how a fairly dangerous looking stunt can be shot effectively with no risk to health and safety - in fact the shot of Jake being knocked over on his bike and the car braking to a stop were shot on separate days - and the sound effects were added later of course. The music fits brilliantly and is an original composition produced by Jake using Apple's GarageBand software. The camera shots are well framed in this sequence and the wobbly title when Jake rides over the speed bump at the beginning is a really nice touch!

The Wallet

This has all the ingredients for an enjoyable and gripping drama - a good plot, an excellent variety of camera shots and angles, very good acting (although that teacher could do with a few lessons maybe) and a great choice of music for the target audience. The music used in the middle adds a comic element to this sequence too...enjoy!

The Kiss

This little sequence works very well, again a variety of well planned shots keeps us gripped, the close-ups are used to show the emotion on Jade's face such as shock and despair.

The bullies

This sequence aims to highlight the very serious issue of bullying in schools. The bullies are very menacing in this scene and the music enhances this aspect. A good little chase sequence at the end, I really like the shot from the top of the stairs through the safety glass, the tilted angle of the camera on the stairs adds to the "horror" element.

Lowe Hill

There is some really good camera work and editing in this sequence. The football scene is cut very well to the soundtrack and the slow motion and reverse effects make it look very slick almost like a music video, which follows a convention used in soaps aimed at a teenage audience like the title sequence of Hollyoaks that we analysed for example. There's a really good panning shot too as the boys run across the front of the school. Does anyone recognize the theme tune?
